Documentation review according to UNE 62446

Photovoltaic systems have a lifespan of several decades. Ownership of PV plants may vary, interventions for operation and maintenance, extensions or other changes are likely to be made. Only through proper documentation, from the first moment, can the long-term correct functioning of a PV system be guaranteed. Photovalía Solar Services checks if the technical documentation of your PV plant complies with international standard UNE 62446.

Visual inspection

The new PV plant must be executed professionally and according to previously prepared documentation. During on-site inspections, Photovalía Solar Services checks:

  • Compliance with relevant laws and standards,
  • The coherence between documentation and execution,
  • Compliance with the requirements of the equipment manufacturers and assembly manuals.

Faults are detected and the best solutions are proposed.

Monitoring revision

To ensure optimal performance and safe operation, PV plants must be monitored for 24 hours. The system must immediately recognise any incident with the greatest possible precision, in order to enable rapid correction at the lowest possible cost. Photovalía Solar Services:

  • Checks the operation,
  • Evaluates the actual performance data,
  • Compares energy yields with forecasts,
  • Compares meteorological data with satellite data,
  • And compares the theoretical and real state of the Performance Ratio.

On-site measurements

Photovalía Solar Services carries out field measurements to obtain reliable and up-to-date data on the operation of its PV plant. Among others, Photovalia Solar Services:

  • Checks the performance and correct connection of modules, strings or generators, making measurements of the I-V curves,
  • Measures temperatures and temperature differences with a thermographic camera, so that defects and weak points can be identified in modules, inverters and other components of the PV system,
  • Measures the behavior of the modules during electroluminescence measurements. The cells are illuminated through the connection of a voltage source. Defective and inactive modules can be identified.
